Nov 23…
Giving the patio a good scrub before laying down our patio tiles for the season. This time of year is typically cooler, and we can spend more time outside enjoying the fresh air.

Nov 21…
Making some preβprepared meals to store, it’s too warm here to just leave food out on the counter to cool before packing it away. This baking pan is sitting on some frozen cooler blocks, with some plasticβwrapped frozen water bottles on top. PowerβChill!

Nice sunset over our neighbourhood tonight.

Still chaos in our home while things are being fixed. Living room is full of boxes of things that should be residing in our kitchen cupboards.

Nov 14…
We no longer have to pack these “water babies” for a car ride, then manually haul them up the stairs. (20kg / 44lbs each)
We now just order online and they are delivered right to our door. These empties are set out ready for pickup.

Nov 8…
Time for a break on the patio… Boulevardiers, with peanuts and herb/cheese breadsticks.

After constant battling with the limited space in our refrigerator freezer, we decided to buy a chest freezer. This gives us some more flexibility in our cold storage space, and allows us to keep on-hand some pre-prepared storm-ready meals.

Oct 8…
The day after Hurricane Priscilla… Everything is clean and fresh!
Sept 28…
Five years ago today we left Canada, so we thought it might be appropriate to make some Canadian food! We did our best to re-create a White Spot meal… Double-Double burger (two meat, two cheese, two pickles on top, with Triple-O sauce), Zoo Sticks, and Fries. And finish it off with a Canadian staple: Nanaimo Bar. π
Sept 27…
We don’t get rain very often here, but when we do all the plants come to life and everything turns from brown to green.
These two satellite photos of the Baja California peninsula show a striking difference between April (dry season) and September (after a bit of rain).

Sept 27…
Ready for more rainstorms this season…
All of the ground-floor condos have sandbags in front of their doors to help keep the water out.

Sept 6…
Every so often you just have to bring home some takeout fast food. This well-secured bag is full of Chicken Strips from Carl’s Jr.
Sept 3…
Whenever we have a big rainstorm, we typically get rainwater leaking in through some of the window latches. Shari had the brilliant idea to stuff disposable diapers under each latch. Overnight the one under the office right window collected over a litre of water!

Aug 3…
Fresh cherries were available in our stores, so we had to get some! Getting creative with what to do with them, Shari found a recipe for an Italian Cherry Margarita… Cherries + Lime Juice + Tequila + Amaretto
Cheers!

In Mexico I have been having a hard time finding good-flavour potato chips. I was excited when I saw these on the store shelf, and had to try them! What I didn’t realize was that these were British “crisps” where “strong” means “there’s sort of an essence of flavour that you can almost taste” π

Mar 27…
In the undeveloped common property lot in front of our condo, someone left this pair of shoes, neatly placed, for several days before they were gone.
