We don’t get rain very often here, but when we do all the plants come to life and everything turns from brown to green.
These two satellite photos of the Baja California peninsula show a striking difference between April (dry season) and September (after a bit of rain).

All of the ground-floor condos have sandbags in front of their doors to help keep the water out.

Every so often you just have to bring home some takeout fast food. This well-secured bag is full of Chicken Strips from Carl’s Jr.

Whenever we have a big rainstorm, we typically get rainwater leaking in through some of the window latches. Shari had the brilliant idea to stuff disposable diapers under each latch. Overnight the one under the office right window collected over a litre of water!

Fresh cherries were available in our stores, so we had to get some! Getting creative with what to do with them, Shari found a recipe for an Italian Cherry Margarita… Cherries + Lime Juice + Tequila + Amaretto

In Mexico I have been having a hard time finding good-flavour potato chips. I was excited when I saw these on the store shelf, and had to try them! What I didn’t realize was that these were British “crisps” where “strong” means “there’s sort of an essence of flavour that you can almost taste” 😂
